Where to learn about online Marketing

Here of course!

Well, this is probably going to be the most comprehensive, get down to the nitty gritty source on learning the basics you'll find on the net.

However there are several other resources that are extremely valuable.

One neglected source by many webmasters, and wannabe webmasters is a gathering place called forums.

A forum is typically a website where like minded individuals gather and post their thoughts, ideas, questions and most of all opinions.

A forum can be based on any subject such as gardening, hobbies, home improvement or in our case Marketing.

The way a forum is set up typically follows this outline:

First you login and set yourself up a profile and signature.

Sometimes you are required to tell a bit about yourself so others know who they're speaking to, but not always.

The signature file is a couple of lines that usually follow your post and here is where you would put a link back to either your website or newsletter or whatever else you have to promote.

Of course you could leave it blank.

The benefit to adding a sig file is the fact that usually forums are popular and get spidered often by search engines, in the process getting your link spidered. The more obvious reason is simply free advertising to the other members of the forum.

Abuse of a forum and or sig file for no other purpose than to advertise will typically get you banned from a forum. The reason forums exist, are so that people can trade ideas and not for advertising alone.

Most respectable forum will have a moderator which will review your post before allowing it to be seen by other members. This ensures the integrity of the post and also enforces the rules.

Some of the most popular forum and the ones that I frequent are:

http://www.webmasterworld.com

http://www.associateprograms.com/discus/

http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/

http://www.geekvillage.com/forums/

http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/

There are many others and a quick search on any major search engine will reveal tons, however these are my favorites and I think the best ones out there.

Other learning resources include ebooks. Follow this link to the ebook download page and start reading now!!!

Good Luck in this Marketing Jungle!
